SRINAGAR : A gunfight broke out between militants and security forces in village in Nowpora area Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday evening

According to reports, a joint team comprising personnel from the Army, CRPF, and Jammu and Kashmir Police initiated a cordon and search operation in the Pethseer area of Sopore following credible intelligence regarding the presence of militants in the vicinity.

As the security forces closed in on the suspected location, the militants opened fire, leading to a fierce exchange of gunfire.
