Militant Associate Apprehended in Uri, J&K

Jammu and Kashmir Police, in collaboration with security forces, has detained a militant associate affiliated with the Lashkar-e-Taiba militant group in the Uri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district. The arrest was made following a joint patrolling mission conducted based on specific intelligence regarding terrorist activities in the region.

According to a spokesperson for the police, the joint patrolling team, comprising personnel from Baramulla Police and Army 8 RR, noticed suspicious movement in the General area of kamalkoot mandayan. Upon closer observation, they identified an individual attempting to evade the patrolling party. However, the vigilant team managed to apprehend the suspect, later identified as Farooq Ahmed Khokar, son of Salamdin Khokar from Kalsi Kamalkoot.

During a search of Khokar, law enforcement officials recovered a pistol, two magazines, and 20 rounds of ammunition. Subsequently, a case has been registered under sections UA (P) and Arms Act at PS Uri, and investigations are underway.
