GMC Anantnag doctors slam for government new timings

Anantnag, April 13: The Medical Faculty Form (MFF) members including the consultants, Medical officers, representative of paramedical staff, and NHM of GMC Anantnag held a meeting last week to deliberate on new work timings and slammed the government for ordering extra working hours – 9 am to 5 pm (Monday to Friday with half hour lunch break) and 9 am to 1: 30 pm on Saturday.
The members have sent a representation in this regard to the administrative Secretary to Health and Medical Education department, J&K.
The GMC doctors have demanded to approve and implement the Chawla Committe report in toto with release of wages for 9 hours of extra work.
The doctors also demand that to holiday on Saturday after cancelling half hour lunch break which then will conform to govt circular 44 GAD of 25/10/28 of five days a week work timings.
Meanwhile, hospital sources told Press Trust of Kashmir (PTK) that the patients badly suffered on Saturday when the doctors left the hospital after 1:30 PM.
