SIU Presents Chargesheet in Militancy Case in JK’s Pulwama

SRINAGAR: The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) has taken a significant step forward in the pursuit of justice by filing a chargesheet in connection with FIR No. 260/2023 at the Pulwama Police Station on Monday. The chargesheet, meticulously prepared by the SIU Pulwama, targets three militants and a militant associate allegedly involved in grave acts against the state.

 

According to a statement released by a police spokesperson, the chargesheet, crafted under sections 18, 20, 38, 39, and 40 of the UAPA Act, names three identified terrorists: Ehsan Ul Haq Sheikh, son of Abdul Rasheed Sheikh, hailing from Murran Pulwama; Owais Feroz Mir, son of Feroz Ahmad Mir, from Frestabal Pampore, with a present address in PoK; and Abrar-ul-Islam, a resident of Pakistan. Additionally, an accomplice, Ishtiyaq Nazir Dar, son of Nazir Ahmad Dar, from Ashmander Pulwama, currently in custody, has also been included in the chargesheet.

 

Moreover, it was stated that chargesheets against another accused (CCL) Abbas Majeed Parray, son of Abdul Majeed Parray, a resident of Ashmander Pulwama in the same case, had already been submitted before the Hon’ble JJB Court Pulwama on 27/12/2023.

 

This development underscores the steadfast commitment of law enforcement agencies in combating militancy and ensuring the safety and security of the region. It also serves as a testament to the relentless efforts of the SIU Pulwama in investigating and bringing perpetrators of such heinous acts to justice.
