Weather Update : Heavy Snowfall and Rain Alert in J&K
Residents of Jammu and Kashmir are advised to gear up for a weather shift as a Western disturbance sweeps in. Over the next 36-48 hours, the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir are expected to witness moderate to heavy snowfall, while the plains will experience a mix of moderate rain and snow.
Prominent locations such as Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Doodhpatri, Sonamarg, Peer ki Gali, Sinthan Pass, and the elevated areas of Kupwara, Bandipora, Kulgam, Anantnag, and Ganderbal are at risk of heavy snowfall during this period.
The Kashmir Plains, including Srinagar City, are not exempt from the weather event. Expect moderate rain showers accompanied by snowfall in the next 48 hours. Simultaneously, the Jammu division is forecasted to receive light to moderate rain showers, coupled with snowfall in the upper reaches.
