Patiala House Court Extends Custody for Hizbul Mujahideen Operative Javed Ahmed Mattu

NEW DELHI, The Patiala House Court, in a crucial development, has granted a five-day extension to the Delhi Police Special Cell for the custody of Hizbul Mujahideen operative Javed Ahmed Mattu. Presented before the court on Friday, Mattu, an A++ category terrorist with a ₹10 lakh bounty on him, was apprehended on January 4 this year after a search operation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

Currently in the custody of the Delhi Police Special Cell, Mattu faces serious charges as law enforcement officials seized a pistol, magazine, and a stolen vehicle from him, according to police sources. The evidence collected during his arrest forms a critical part of the ongoing investigation into his alleged involvement in multiple cases of terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir.
