NIA Attaches Property in Srinagar in Weapons Seizure Case

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has attached a residential house in Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar, marking a crucial development in a weapons seizure case. The house, situated in Khan Colony, Chanapora area, belongs to Mushtaq Ahmad, according to officials said news agency Press Trust of Kashmir.

This action is a direct result of the ongoing investigation under “case RC-4/2022/NIA/JMU,” focusing on the recovery of arms and ammunition. The NIA officials have disclosed that the property attachment is a key step in unraveling the intricate connections linked to the case.

The turning point in this investigation stems from the arrest of two local hybrid militants associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT)-The Resistance Front (TRF) in May 2022. Subsequently, a significant cache of arms and ammunition, along with incriminating material, was seized from Mushtaq Ahmad’s residence.

Among the confiscated items were fifteen pistols, 30 magazines, and 300 rounds, emphasizing the severity of the situation. This move by the NIA underscores the agency’s commitment to addressing security challenges and curbing illegal activities in the region.

As this high-profile case unfolds, the community awaits further details on the connections and implications of the seized weapons. The NIA’s prompt response sends a resolute message that efforts to destabilize the region through illicit means will be met with rigorous investigation and decisive action.
