A couple has been arrested for impersonating as IPS and IAS officers

SRINAGAR (PTK) : Srinagar police on Monday arrested a Couple for impersonating as IPS and IAS officers. They deceived several individuals by promising jobs, transfers, and other favors, and as a result, many people lost lakhs of rupees. The accused are identified as Manmohan Ganjoo (posing as a fake IPS officer), son of late Girdhari Lal Ganjoo from Baghat, Srinagar, and Ayoush Koul Ganjoo (posing as a fake IAS officer), his wife.
Manmohan Ganjoo is a suspended police personnel, and during the arrest, laptops and mobiles were seized, which contained numerous fake transfer and appointment orders, including his own fraudulent induction into the IPS. Additionally, cash, jewelry, and other incriminating items were recovered from their residence.
An FIR (First Information Report) number 73/2023 has been registered at the Sadder Police Station under sections 170, 419, 420, 467, 468, and 471 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Three victims have come forward to report fraud by this couple. The public is urged not to become victims of such fraudsters. If anyone has been duped by this ‘conman-couple,’ they should promptly report the incident.(PTK)
