DDC polls: Hajin records 53% polling , Drugmulla 33%
Press Trust Of Kashmir Srinagar Dec 05:-Hajin (A) DDC constituency recorded a polling percentage of 53.27 percent and Drugmulla 32.73%, officials said.
The State Election Commission (SEC) had declared the polls of both the District Development Council (DDC) seats as “null and void” after two women from PoK contested the elections.
As per the details aavailable, 8690 (53.27) percent votes including 4708 male and 3982 female votes were polled in Hajin A
Similarly in Drugmulla, 10,724 (32.73 percent) including 5624 male and 5100 female votes were polled.
Spanning across 30 Panchayats, a total of 32,000 voters would decide the fate of 10 candidates contesting elections on the Drugmulla seat.
The election for Hajin—A district development council (DDC) seat has turned into a prestige battle for political parties with National Conference and Peoples Conference leaving no stone unturned to woo voters over the past two weeks.
The election in the Drugmulla district development council (DDC) seat is being dubbed as a semi-final between National Conference and Peoples Conference in the north Kashmir’s Kupwara district before the first assembly election of Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory.
