Sopore police arrested one drug Bootlegger, Illicit Liquor recovered, Case registered.
PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR SRINAGAR OCT 14:-Continuing its drive against the menace of drugs and illicit liquor, Sopore Police today arrested one bootlegger at Ladoora crossing and recovered illicit liquor from his possession.
A police party led by SHO Police Station Dangiwacha Insp. Shahnawaz Ahmad under the supervision of SDPO Rafiabad Shri. Ameen Bhat-JKPS, established a Naka at Ladoora crossing. During naka checking, an Alto car bearing registration number JK09C-2714 was intercepted and during checking of the said vehicle, one suspicious person was found to be carrying 20 illicit liquor bottles in the said vehicle.

The individual was detained and the vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized. The accused has been identified as Shams-ud-din Bajad S/O Sham Muhammad Bajad R/O Kachi Hama Kupwara.
During Preliminary enquiry, it came to surface that the illicit liquor was meant for sale in the general area of Kupwara.
Upon this case FIR No. 107/2022 under section 48-A of Excise act has been registered in Police station Dangiwacha and further investigation taken up.
