DDC Rajouri reviews performance of Industries & Commerce Department
Asks to educate youth about scores of industrial promotion initiatives of Govt
PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR RAJOURI, OCTOBER 07: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, today reviewed the working of Industries and Commerce Department, here in a meeting of the concerned officers.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Planning Officer, Mohammad Khurshid; General Manager DIC, Ashwini Sharma and DO KVIB, Aiyaz Ahmed.
While reviewing the functioning of I&C department, the DDC inquired about the industrial estates functioning in the district. The GM DIC informed that there is one industrial estate in the district having 52 industrial units. He also said that some of the units have been closed by the owners.
Enquiring about the availability of land with the department, the GM DIC apprised that the department has 1552 kanal land at seven different locations for development of industrial estates.

Referring to scores of industrial promotion initiatives, the DDC asked the concerned officer to generate mass awareness among the youth about the same so that they can set up their industrial units on the available land and get benefitted.
Taking a review of the implementation of self employment schemes, including Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Program (PMEGP), the concerned officer informed that 180 cases have been disbursed this financial year with the coordination of the banks.
Regarding the recently launched new central sector scheme, the GM DIC informed that the objective of the scheme was to give a push to industrial development in Jammu and Kashmir. Similarly, the DDC also took a detailed review of the other schemes and programs being implemented by the department in the district.
The DDC asked the concerned officers to educate the public about the self employment generation schemes and programs being implemented by the department in the district and motivate them to avail the necessary benefits of the same.
