DC Udhampur listen’s to public issues, demands at Moungri

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR UDHAMPUR, SEPTEMBER-28:- Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Krittika Jyotsna, today visited Block Moungri and listened to public issues during the weekly Block Diwas programme held at PWD Dak Bunglow  Moungri of District Udhampur.

         BDC Chairman, Bimla Devi, DDC Councillor, Jasvir Singh,  Sarpanches, Panches, besides a large number of general public, hailing from different adjoining panchayats of Block Moungri attended Block Diwas  programme and  projected several demands and issues  like  Shortage of staff in  Health and Education Department, Establishment of Degree College, Construction/ Black topping of various circular roads, Up gradation of middle school to High School, Construction of irrigation khul, Uninterrupted power supply, Appointment of Doctor, Electrification of un-electrified area, Weak mobile network problem etc.

The DC noted and heard all the demands of the public and assured the public that all their genuine issues and demands would be addressed in a time bound manner through optimization and prioritization. The DC directed the officers to work with missionary zeal  to meet the genuine demands of the people. She asked the officers to inform the people about income generating and beneficiary oriented schemes launched by the Government of India and UT Govt.

        While interacting with the public, the DC said that the main objective of this programme is to take a firsthand appraisal of important issues of grass root level. She added that these outreach camps help reach governance at the door steps of the public which improves the public service delivery mechanism.

After concluding Block Diwas, the DC also inaugurated Solid waste management segregation unit and foundation work of stairs at Moungri and directed the concerned department to expedite the progress of works and its timely completion.
