PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR SRINAGAR SEP 21:- Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested three drug peddlers in Sopore area
An official said that acting tough against the drug peddlers, Sopore Police arrested three drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
On 20 September police party of Police Station Sopore headed by SHO Police Station Sopore Insp. Khalid Fayaz under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Shri. Furqan Qadir-JKPS, during patrolling duty at Butpora arrested three drug peddlers when the arrested persons were moving in a suspicious circumstances and attempted to runaway, but were caught tactfully, he said

The arrested drug peddlers have been identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Gazi S/O Ghulam Muhammad R/O Shahabad Sopore, Aijaz Ahmad Ganie S/O Bashir Ahmad Ganie R/O Hathishah Sopore and and Zubair Ahmad Lone S/O Muhammad Rafi Lone R/O Khawaja Gilgat Sopore.
Police party were able to recover 31 grams Brown sugar like Substance from the three arrested accused .
Regarding the incident case vide FIR number 246/2022 under section 8/21, 29 of NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Sopore and investigation is underway, he added.
Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt strictly as per law, he added.
