Search ops launched after initial exchange called off

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR SRINAGAR SEP 13:- A militant was killed while as a solider was injured in an encounter that broke out between security forces and militants in Heff Shirmal area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district.
An official said that a joint of team of police and CRPF after receiving information about the presence of militants launched search operation in the area.
He said that as the joint team of forces intensified searches towards suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the party, which was retaliated, thus triggering an encounter.

He said that during exchange of fire, an unidentified militant was killed while sa a solider was injured who was shifted to hospital for treatment.
He added that soon after initial exchange, search operation was extended in whole area, however, after conducting searches for several hours in the area, nothing was found after which operation was called off.
