Presence of bear creates panic in Srinagar

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR SRINAGAR SEP 11:- Panic gripped Rajbagh area of Srinagar after a bear and it’s cub were seen roaming in the area late last night after which the wildlife department and police have asked the residents to stay indoors till the bear is caught.

An official said that a bear and its cub have been seen roaming in the area following which a team has launched a search operation to capture the wild animals.

Police along with Wildlife advised people to stay indoors, especially don’t leave the children alone and lock the main gates of their houses, so as to prevent any untoward incident.

“One Wild Bear & a small Cub are roaming in Rajbagh locality of Srinagar. Wildlife officials & Police are on the job. Citizens of this & nearby areas are advised to remain indoors till it is caught. If anyone notices/sees the bear, pls inform at SHO Rajbagh’s number 7006572050,” police tweeted.
