Kishtwar: AHD organises special awareness camp on LSD in Chowgan Ground
PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR KISHTWAR, AUGUST 29: A Special Awareness Drive was today launched by the Department of Animal Husbandry Kishtwar to inform dairy farmers about Lumpy Skin disease among cattle.
The event was held under the guidance of Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Dr Sanjay Kumar Sen.
A team visited chowgan ground and its surroundings and interacted with the dairy farmers and updated them about the prevention and treatment of LSD.

Ward Member Begana said that there is no case of the Disease in the village and agreed to have awareness camp at Begana by tomorrow in the village. After examining 40 animals no case of lumpy was seen.
Meanwhile, adjacent villages were made aware about the LSD control measures by another team through public address system.
The villages included Hullar, Poohie, Banderna, Indra Nagar, Kulied, wasser and Malipeth.
The Ring Vaccination was also administered in some areas, while suspected cases were responding to treatment. The area RRTs are in contact with the owners of animals with Lumpy Skin Disease symptoms. Free medicines were also given to affected animal owners.
Till date only 7 suspected cases have been registered in the district.
