Extensive market checking conducted in Kishtwar Town ahead of Shree Krishna Janmashtami festival

Rotten vegetables, fruits destroyed on spot, Rs 1,500 recovered from defaulters

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR KISHTWAR, AUGUST 17: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar, Ashok Sharma, enforcement teams conducted extensive market checking today here in Kishtwar town ahead of Shree Krishna Janmashtami festival.

The designated enforcement team comprising Assistant Controller Legal Metrology, Tehsil Supply Officer FCS & CA, Inspector/Team of Municipal Council and SHO, under the supervision of Tehsildar  Pramood Kumar checked the quality and rate list of Food items and other essential commodities.

During the market checking, rotten vegetables, fruits were destroyed on the spot. Besides, a fine of Rs 1,500 (Rs One Thousand and Five hundred) was recovered from the defaulters.

 The team also removed encroachments made by the shopkeepers on the footpath and the articles put beyond permissible area were seized and kept in the custody of the Municipal Council Kishtwar.

The team issued strict instructions to the business establishments to maintain hygienic conditions and display the rate list and other necessary documents at their shops.
