DLSA Reasi hosts series of awareness events on Women centric schemes REASI, JULY 16: Under the aegis of NALSA and as per the Action Plan issued by the J&K Legal Services Authority (JKLSA) for the month of July, 2022 and also under the insightful directions of R.N Watal, Worthy Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Reasi, District Legal Services Authority, Reasi today organised an awareness program on “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” scheme- launched by the Government for improving the efficiency of Welfare Services meant for women in the year 2015. The programme was held at Government Girls High School, Pouni. Advocates Rashi Baru and Shazia Akhter Punjabi were the resource persons in the program. This program was attended by students and faculty members of GGHS, Pouni. The objective of organizing this program was to prevent Sex-selective elimination, to ensure survival and Protection of the girl child and also to ensure education and empowerment of girl child. At the end of the program a pledge for eliminating the menace of female foeticide was also administered to the participants. In addition to this, District Legal Services Authority, Reasi also organized another awareness program on “Drug Abuse” at Government Higher Secondary School (Boys) Pouni. Panel Advocates P.D. Singh and Rakeshjeet Singh were the resource persons in the program. This program was also attended by faculty members and students of GHSS (Boys) Pouni. The objective of organizing this awareness program was to create awareness about the hazardous impact of drug abuse on the society and to create a world without it. Besides this District Legal Services Authority, Reasi as per the Action plan also organized an awareness program on the observance of “World Day for International Justice” under a theme (2022) “Achieving Social Justice through Formal Employment” at Government Higher Secondary School (Boys)Reasi wherein Panel Advocates Deepak Atri and Ajay Salalia were the resource persons. The objective of organizing this program was to raise awareness among the participants about the genocide, women inequality and violence against women etc. All these programs were conducted under the supervision of Secretary DLSA Reasi.
