Former foreign minister Khwaja Asif trailing | Unofficial results from 16 NA-73 (Sialkot-II) polling stations show PTI’s Muhammad Usman Dar leading with 3,006 votes. PML-N leader and former foreign minister Khawaja Asif trails closely with 2,929 votes.
PTI and PML(N) neck and neck in Punjab province. Both are leading in 31 seats each.
Half of the leads for Imran Khan’s PTI have come from Punjab, a stronghold of Nawaz Sharif.
Pakistan Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa today urged the people to vote to defeat the “inimical forces” working against the country, amid charges of manipulation by the powerful military in the just-concluded elections. Gen Bajwa and his wife exercised their franchise in the garrison city of Rawalpindi, the spokesperson for the military’s media wing said. He urged the people to “come out and vote undeterred” in order to defeat enemy forces working against Pakistan, Director-General Inter-Services Public Relations Major General Asif Ghafoor tweeted along with a picture of the stout army chief at the polling centre.

The jury is still divided over Imran Khan, the chairman of Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) who ran a strong campaign on an anti-corruption message.
PTI leads across 30 Punjab seats, PML-N in 22.

Imran Khan (4192 votes) is leading in NA-95, Mianwali which is one of the five constituencies that he is contesting. PML-N’s Abid ullah khan trails with (976 votes). Cricket star-turned-politician Imran Khan is hoping to become Pakistan’s prime minister after 20 years of being dismissed at the polls, as the country prepares for results of an election pitting him against the party of jailed ex-premier Nawaz Sharif.
Pakistan’s election commission today rejected a plea by major political parties to extend the polling time by an hour, amid reports of slow voting in many constituencies, according to a media report. The voting closed at 6:00 pm (local time) as scheduled. The request to extend the voting time was initiated by former jailed prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s party Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), which was later joined by the Awami Muslim League (AML), the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaad (PTI).

Imran Khan came under scanner of the Election Commission of Pakistan for not maintaining the secrecy and casting his vote in full view of the media and cameras.
PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi leading with 4,205 votes in NA-156 (Multan-III). PML-N’s Amir Saeed Ansari trails with 2,860 votes. 11 out of 312 polling station results in.
Bilawal Bhutto has lost in one of the polling stations in Larkana, Garhi Khuda Buksh. MMA’s Rashid Mehmood has 1,103, Bilawal 1,003.
BAP candidate Muhammad Khan leading with 113 votes in PB-4 (Loralai). MMAP’s Molvi Faiz Ullah trails with 75 votes.

Women of Pakistan | Pakistani women who had pledged to defy men in their village by voting for the first time ultimately did not exercise their democratic right in Wednesday’s election, citing intimidation by their husbands. Male elders banned females from voting in Mohri Pur, some 60 kilometres (35 miles) from the central Pakistan city of Multan, around 1947 and the women have obeyed ever since. This year many had vowed to cast a ballot following changes to Pakistan’s election laws and amid shifting attitudes towards women in parts of the deeply patriarchal South Asian country. Some 3,200 women were listed on the electoral register in Mohri Pur — but not one voted, according to election officials and an AFP journalist at the village’s sole polling station.
Khusro Bakhtiar, a PML-N defectee to PTI, leading in NA-177 (Rahim Yar Khan III) with 2,546 votes. PPPP’s Makhdoom Shahabuddin trails at second position with 848 votes.
NA-243: MQM’s Ali Raza Abidi is leading with 416 votes. PTI’s Imran Khan has secured 250 votes.
PTI’s Ijaz Ahmad leading with 6,250 votes. PML-N’s Shaikh Rohale Asghar trails at second position with 6,080 votes in NA-128 (Lahore VI) .
PTI’s Akbar Ayub Khan leading with 111 votes. PML-N’s Qazi Asad Khan trails with 64 votes in PK-40 (Haripur I).
