In Kulgam Muslims Help perform last rites of Hindu Woman

Srinagar, 07 Dec (PTK) : Muslim neighbors in Kulgam helped in performing the last rites of an elderly hindu woman on Tuesday.

Reports reaching Press trust of Kashmir (PTK) that local muslims helped in performing last rites of 82-year-old woman Lajwanti Devi,who passed away after brief illness at Begam village in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

Lajwanti died on early morning of tuesday and was cremated with honour, Muslim neighbours performed her last rites as per their religion.

A relative of deceased woman said that muslim neighbours helps in performing last rites of the deceased woman as per their religion and every possible help was provided by the local Muslim community, from setting up the cremation pyre to checking the last-minute details.

Meanwhile Locals in large number also visited the home of the deceased family to express condolences with them. (PTK).
