Inconsistent Covid-19 policy hallmark of administration’s failure – Sheeban Ashai.

Blow hot, blow cold approach not only caused loss of precious lives but damages worth thousands of crores.

Srinagar, 15th September(PTK): Lashing out at LG lead administration for its preposterous inconsistence vis-a-vis implementing Covid-19 guidelines, Senior Awami Itehad Party Leader Sheeban Ashai censured administration for demonstrating egregious negligence of the worst form. It seems those occupying chairs of power are living on all altogether different planet. Why is that when all experts; epidemiologists across globe forewarned of a potential third Covid-19 wave, local administration in Kashmir like always has been caught off guard; callously napping, least bothered about implementation of Covid SOPs ? Ashai said, “It is inexcusable that every time around first they allow all hell to break lose and when mitigating machinations; all means of damage control fails, a lockdown is ultimately imposed. The LG administration must answer who will compensate people for losses incurred if a Lockdown is imposed, in view of a potential third wave. When the Government of day doesn’t even have funds to pay salaries of its departments; is unceremoniously laying off employees. One is forced to ask the question can people of Jammu And Kashmir afford such kind of administrative buffoonery; governance failures which are happening with LG Manoj Sinha at helm? Who would compensate the already suffering private sector for the losses; who would be held responsible for subsequent rise in levels of unemployment and above everything loss of lives, Ashai asked? Situation demands a dynamically enthusiastic approach from those at helm but Government of day seems to have conveniently taken everything for granted. LG administration is duty bound to answer why have so many public events been allowed without observance of even basic Covid-19 preventive norms, not even one in hundred is wearing a mask and physical distancing is hardly observed anywhere in public spaces”. Administration must answer for huge public gatherings eulogising Bollywood actors and singers, who were allowed concert like events. Also government’s double standards in punishing violators is appalling to say the least. Ashai advised Jammu Kashmir administration to shun their style of abominable functioning and understand their responsibility towards people at large.(PTK).
