Timber smuggling bid foiled in Anantnag, case registered

Press Trust of Kashmir | Anantang : A Forest Protection Force team has seized illicit timber in Sunglan village of Chittergul hamlet of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on intervening night of Sunday and Monday.

An official said that upon receipt of specific information, a team raided Compartment Number 78 at Sunglan village in Chittergul and made seizure of thirty-five cubic square feet of illicit timber from the site last night.

He said that smugglers involved in the bid however managed to escape the spot.

An FIR number 55/2021 under section 26 Forest Act has been registered in Police Station Uttersoo and further investigation has been taken up.(PTK).
