118 Battalion Of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) distribute food kits among poorer and needy

Press Trust of Kashmir | Ganderbal : Continuing the ration distribution drive of Srinagar Sector, CRPF, today, distribution camps were held at couple of places near Baltal. The region under Ganderbal district, was chosen to reach out to the Poniwalas who are staring at a bleak future after cancellation of this year’s Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. These people from Domel, Baltal, Gagangir and Gund have their livelihood at stake.
118 Bn, Gund, held these camps today and provided free ration for 01 month to more than 150 needy families.
In this drive, assisted by Shri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, ration comprising of 25 kg Rice, 10 Kg Flour, and daily need food items like Salt, Sugar, Oil, etc. have been packed to cater for a month’s requirement for a family. This initiative was received well and lauded by the locals. On the occasion, Dr. Satyaveer Singh Verma, Commandant-118 Bn, CRPF distributed food items to local families, in the presence of Sarpanch of respective villages and officials of Amarnath Shrine Board..(PTK)
