Police arrests drug peddler in Ganderbal, contraband substance recovered

Press trust of kashmir | Ganderbal : Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested one drug peddler in Ganderbal and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
On the directions of SSP Ganderbal, officers from Police Station Ganderbal at a checkpoint established at Badar Kund intercepted one suspicious person identified as Nisar Ahmad Dar son of Mohammed Sultan Dar resident of Shahpora Badar Kund. During checking, officers were able to recover 600gms of Charas from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR number 94/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Ganderbal and investigation has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.(PTK).

Police seeks public cooperation to mitigate spread of virus
June 04: Continuing its efforts to curb the outbreak of 2nd wave of Coronavirus, J&K Police have enhanced its efforts to sensitise the masses about controlling the highly contagious Coronavirus. During the last 24hrs, Police have arrested 192 persons, lodged 91 FIRs and also realized fine to the tune of ₹4,35,050/- from 3814 people throughout the Kashmir valley for violating the various guidelines/rules/SOPs regarding Covid-19.
The special drive against the violators of Covid-19 guidelines/rules continued throughout all the districts of Kashmir Valley to ensure that people adhere to SOPs/guidelines envisaged by government to curb COVID-19 pandemic.
Community members are once again requested to cooperate with the Police in containing the spread of Coronavirus by following the SOPs/ guidelines/protocols for their own safety and for the safety of others. The special drive shall continue throughout the districts of Kashmir Valley to strengthen the safety measures.(PTK).
