BJP Sarpanch Attacked During The DDC Elections

Jammu Dec, 12 (PTK) On Thursday Vivek Sharma BJP SarPanch of Baljaran was attacked by NC workers at Dhangri polling booth no. 23. Vivek was looking after the DDC elections to be held in a free and fair manner and raised his voice against the unfair demands of NC workers when he was attacked.

Talking about the incident a family member said that “the voting for DDC elections was smoothly going. At 2 pm when it was time for closing the polling booth 8-10 workers of NC told the SarPanch to keep open the polling booth beyond the time limit as more voters are coming to cast their vote but the SarPanch refused their demand. The NC workers then attacked him and he was admitted to GMC Bakshi Nagar in critical condition”.

Adding further me said that “such types of incidents are seen during every election and no police officer arrests them and they roam freely”. The mother of the victim said that” our only demand from the administration is that either these culprits should be arrested or they should be handed over to us”.

Vivek Sharma’s condition is still critical and an FIR has been filed against 6 NC Workers in Rajouri Police Station.(PTK)
