Massive forest fire breaks out in Bandipora

Bandipora, Nov 13(PTK) : A massive forest fire broke out on Friday evening in Dardpora area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora.

Notably, this is the third forest fire incident in the district in the few days.

Eyewitnesses told that the fire engulfed in compartment number 110 of Dardpora forest range, during which dozens of trees got destroyed.

“The fire later spread to the adjoining compartments of the forest area,” they said.

Locals said that the massive fire has caused extensive damage to the forest area, adding that the fire has spread to a vast area as the concerned officials failed to douse the flames on time.

An official, however, stated that after receiving the information, a team of officials and firefighters was sent to the spot and they are trying to control the fire from spreading.(PTK)
