Bandipora Girl in North Kashmir gave wings to her aspirations

Bandipora, Nov 05 (PTK) We live in a society where women folk is seen as a burden and treated unequally by some sections of people.
Though the gender gap is being erased day by day, gender bias is still prevailing in many parts of the country.
However, girls have always proved their best in doing all kinds of work.
Be it as a teacher,doctor, engineer etc. They have elevated themselves and tried their best to prove themselves because of their efforts, there is a contain battle against male chauvinism.
Women are now even actively participating in politics.
In India, we can see the great political thinker, Indira Gandi who became the first women Prime Minister and protected the legacy of Congress, Mehbooba Mufti IST Woman Chief Minister of J&K.

We have other towering figures in India like Sania Mirza, Kalpana Chawla, Kiran Bedi and many more who have excelled in their fields.

Kashmir is also witnessing this kind of revolution where women are shining like the stars.
Farah Tanki who is one of the youngest women entrepreneurs of the valley started her own business and is very successful.
Sami Ara, Kashmir’s first commercial pilot from Bandipora district broke the stereotype of gender bias.
She found a supportive family environment and studied from a Boys School being the only girl in the School.

Her mother gave her every kind of support to make her dreams come true. She had been the topper always in her class and due to her hardwork, she shines like a star.

Sami was born in an educated family.
The main credit of her success goes to her parents who broke all stereotypes while upbringing and educating her.
With primary education in a countryside primary school and being lone girl among boys at high school level nobody would have imagined her career in skies.

It was an era when girls were confined to domestic chores only and schooling was never encouraged.

Post matriculation she joined M L Higher Secondary School, Hajin for higher secondary education.
Her competence, interest and all-rounder ability made her favorite of every teacher.
In addition to her academic excellence, she proved herself as an outstanding performer in all co-curricular activities.
After passing higher secondary class examination with brilliant success, she chased a dream of becoming doctor but almighty had something else in store for her; she couldn’t qualify the entrance test.
She never felt dejected but was determined to prove her mettle and ability.

Hermother became a motivating force after this failure and she enthusiastically, with zeal and passion started her bachelors degree in science and accomplished it with flying grades.

For a girl, BSC degree in her area was a big leap in ones life.
She wanted to persue post graduation but the destiny took some other shape and she got a private job at meager salary but the job didn’t satisfy her and she left.

Her passion for excellence was always there and to accomplish something bully was always in her mind.

She got the job of an air hostess and it elevated her confidence.
She kept trying her best to explore something new every day and in between faced many hardships as well.
To her adversities was like learning exercises to make one strong and bold.
Besides her job, she was working hard in academics and had to study late in night because of the job protocol.
Sami wanted to accomplish something big in aviation industry and by dint of her hardwork and dedicationshe fulfilled every criterion to qualify for a commercial pilot training in Texas USA.
After three months of vigorous training she qualified to fly an aeroplane.

She became the first lady pilot of the valley after getting license of commercial pilot.
She chased her dreams with dedication, confronted many hardships but proved her worth and defeated the notion of being weak.

She married a co- professional of Madhya Pradesh and is mothering her two kids.
She is satisfied with her life.
After earning a lot of name and fame, she aspires to do something for girls. She wants to motivate people especially girls to explore every possiblity to explore their dreams.
Sami intends to erase the stigma of rural sensibility.
She believes that time has changed a lot as compared to her own days of struggle. She is optimistic about the future of girls of our valley. Her life is like a celebrity.
She is being invited to many educational institute to counsel and encourage students.
Her popularity is excelling every day and she has become an inspiration for majority of girls.
Thousands are following her on social networking sites and take inspiring messages from it.

She outdid the old mentality when birth of a baby girl was considered as curse and inauspicious.

She set a new trend of opting career other than medical and engineering and brought laurels to the valley by becoming the first female pilot.
