Jaish militant killed in Budgam gunfight, movement of some more militants noticed in the area, will trace them soon, says SSP Budgam
Budgam September 22 (PTK) Jammu and Kashmir police on tuesday said that one unidentified militant of Jaish-e-Muhammad outfit has been killed in an encounter at Nowhal area of Charar-e-Shareef in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district while as movement of few associates of the slain militant has been noticed who would be tracked soon.
While speaking to the reporters, SSP Budgam Amod Nagpur said on Monday evening, joint teams launched an operation on the basis of specific information about the presence of militants in Nowhal area of Charar-e-Shareef area.
“The militants fired indiscriminately at the Forces with bullets and grenades which was retaliated triggering an encounter.
During exchange of fire, one unidentified militant was killed from whose possession large quantity of arms and ammunition besides incriminating material has been recovered,” the SSP said, adding that the slain militant is affiliated with the Jaish-e-Muhammad outfit.
“There are a few associates of slain militant active in the area and we will soon catch them,” the SSP said, adding that the identity of the slain militant is being ascertained.
Meanwhile internet services which were snapped in the district after encounter have been restored.(PTK)
