Cases surge due to non seriousness of people towards covid protocol, increased testing capacity:- Dr Naveed Ahmad Shah

Srinagar September 04 (PTK) The covid-19 cases have shown surge in recent past only due to non seriousness of people toward covid protocol and the testing capacity has been increased, said Dr Naveed Ahmad Shah

Dr Naveed who is HOD at chest disease hospital said that it is obvious that cases will surge if people won’t take care of Covid protocol and testing capacity has been increased.

It is obvious that as people will more and more and won’t take precautions, the cases will increases but fortunately we are receiving less severe cases now

He said that now are able to conduct tests even at PHC through rapid antigent tests which has increased our testing capacity which has decreased the pressure on our main testing laboratories.

Number of tests were restricted ist however due to rapid antigent tests we can test thousands of people in a day.

He further added that as we were receiving more and more critical patients in last month but now their percentage has also decreased.

He once again requested people to follow covid guidelines in letter and spirit and help us in beating Covid-19.

He said as more and more people will recover, it will help us in developing more antibodies aganist Covid-19.

Pertinently there are around 40 thousand positive cases in J&K, among them over 30 thousand have recovered and around 750 have died.(PTK)
