Kulgam August 9(PTK)An encounter rages between militants and the security forces in Sighanpor Village of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district in wee hours of Sunday.
Officials said that on specific inputs about the presence of militants, a joint team of Police, army’s 34 RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in the area on Saturday night.
As the joint team of forces encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, which was retialated triggering an encounter.
Official sources said that two to three militants are believed to be trapped in the area.(PTK)
