PCCF J&K visits Sindh Forest Division Ganderbal

 

SRINAGAR  JULY (PTK)Principal Chief Conservator of Forests & HoFF, Dr. Mohit Gera, IFS carried out extensive tour of Sindh Forest Division, Ganderbal.

He was accompanied by shri. S.F.A Gillani IFS, Chief Conservator of Forests, Kashmir, Conservator of Forests, Srinagar Circle, DFO Sindh and other frontline officers.

 

The PCCF inspected the Malhar Nursery in Ganderbal established by the forest department under CAMPA in which quality seedlings of conifer and broadleaved species like Deodar, Kail, Ulmus, Maple, Betula are raised. Planting stocks of 4.85 lacs are available in nursery out of which 2.00 lacs is ready to be planted this year under Green J&K drive.

The PCCF stressed for quality raising of different high altitude species like Fir and Betula and laid emphasis on development of mother beds. He gave a detailed presentation on modern nursery techniques to the frontline staff.

Later the PCCF took stock of various Forest works being carried out in Sindh Forest Division during the previous year and also of the current year.

He directed for documentation of the works for publication in different mediums to highlight the efforts being put in for eco-restoration of the UT.
