Militants escape after initial exchange of fire in Anantnag

SRINAGAR  MAY (PTK) Militants managed to escape after brief exchange of fire in PoshKreeri area of South kashmir’s Anantnag district on Sunday.

Officials said that after initial exchange of fire at around 2 am, search operation was launched in the area however no contact was established.

Earlier encounter broke out between government forces and militants, after a joint team of forces including 3 RR, CRPF and Anantnag Police launched search operation in the area.

Officials said that as forces intensified search operation towards the suspected spot, hiding militants fired upon forces which was retialated trigerring an encounter.

However after initial exchange of fire, militants managed to escape taken advantage of the darkness, they said

Meanwhile internet services which were snapped in the district as a precautionary have been restored and operation has been called off.
