SRINAGAR: (PTK) Two militants have been killed in an encounter that broke out between government forces and militants in Melhoora village of Zainapora Sub division of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Tuesday evening.

Officials said that two militants have been killed in an exchange of fire while as operation is on in the area.

Earlier officials said that Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was launched in the area by joint team of forces including 55 RR and Shopian Police on receiving specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area

During the searches, the hiding militants fired upon forces, which was retaliated, trigerring an encounter, they said
