One soldier killed, another critical in ongoing gunfight in Shopian

SRINAGAR, (PTK): One Indian soldier was killed and another critically injured, after an exchange of fire broke out between militants and security forces in Pandushan village of Shopian district in the wee hours of Friday.

The injured soldier has been shifted to a district hospital and the operations are still underway.

According to reports the gunfight broke out around 1.30 am after a joint team Indian Army’s 34 Rashtriya Rifle, SOG and CRPF, acting on a tip off about the presence of militants, launched a cordon and search operation in the village. (PTK)
