PDP leader’s PSO shot dead by Militants in Bihbehara
SRINAGAR, JUL 19 (PTK): A personal Security Officer (PSO) of a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader was shot dead in Bijbehara area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
As per the reports that reached to PTK, militants fired upon the PSO of Sajad Mufti from a very less distance at the time when he was coming out of Masjid after finishing Friday congressional prayers.
The bullet had hit the slain on chest and he was rushed to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Bijbehara. The doctors present on duty declared his dead on arrival.
“The slain had suffered bullet wounds on chest and he was dead at the time he reached the hospital,” Medical Superintendent SDH Bijbehara has told a local news agency.
A police officer while confirming the incident to press said that the militants have fled along with the service rifle of slain. Slain cop was identified as Farooq Ahmad Reshi, a resident of Khiram village of Bijbehara.
Huge number of forces personal reached the spot soon after the attack and a massive search operation was launched in the area to nab the militants who fled after the attack.
In May, just two days after the security forces busted Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) module involved in grenade lobbing and explosive planting, a security personnel was shot in Kashmir.
This year in March, a Special Police Officer (SPO) of Jammu and Kashmir Police was killed by suspected militants in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
According to reports, unidentified assailants fired upon at SPO Khushboo Jan at her home in Vehil village and she suffered serious bullet wounds. Khushboo Jan was shifted to a nearby district hospital, where she succumbed to injuries. (PTK)
