Advisor to CM Reviews Jammu Smart City Projects, Pushes for Completion Before Amarnath Yatra
Jammu, May 19 (PTK): Advisor to Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani on Monday reviewed key infrastructure and development projects being executed under Jammu Smart City Limited and stressed the need for timely completion of all major works ahead of the forthcoming Amarnath Yatra 2026.
During the visit, the Advisor was accompanied by senior officials including Dr. Devansh Yadav and Director Projects Sunil Thusu.
Nasir Aslam first visited the TATA e-Bus Depot being developed under the FAME-II initiative and reviewed progress on the PM e-Bus Sewa project. Officials informed him that the electric bus infrastructure is being developed at an estimated cost of ₹16 crore to strengthen eco-friendly public transport facilities in Jammu city.
Appreciating the efforts of Jammu Smart City Limited in modernising urban transport infrastructure, the Advisor directed officials to ensure early completion and inauguration of the PM e-Bus Sewa project. He said Smart City initiatives are transforming Jammu into a cleaner, greener and better-organised urban centre and stressed that all developmental works must be expedited in mission mode.
Later, the Advisor visited the upcoming Waste to Wonder Park project and expressed satisfaction over the artistic monuments being created from recycled waste materials. He also interacted with artisans and workers engaged in the project and appreciated their creativity and dedication.
Describing the initiative as a unique addition to Jammu city, Nasir Aslam congratulated the Smart City team for undertaking a project aimed at promoting tourism, environmental awareness and public recreation.
Officials informed that the Waste to Wonder Park is being developed at an estimated cost of ₹11 crore and is expected to be completed by the end of June 2026. However, the Advisor directed authorities to make all efforts to complete the project before the commencement of the Amarnath Yatra so that pilgrims and tourists can also experience the attraction.
According to officials, the project has already achieved nearly 80 percent physical progress. The park will feature 14 replica monuments made from scrap and recycled materials, including seven international monuments, five national landmarks and two monuments representing Uttar Pradesh.
Officials added that this would be the first Waste to Wonder Park of its kind in Jammu and is envisioned as a major recreational and educational destination for school children, tourists and local residents.
Reiterating the government’s commitment towards urban transformation, the Advisor said efforts are underway to ensure Jammu emerges as a modern, citizen-friendly city equipped with sustainable infrastructure and improved public amenities.(PTK)
