DC Srinagar Reviews District Capex Plan for 2026-27, Stresses Timely Execution of Works

Srinagar, May 07 (PTK): Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Akshay Labroo, on Thursday chaired a meeting of executing agencies to review plan proposals under the District Capex Budget for the financial year 2026-27 and ensure timely initiation of developmental works.

The meeting was held at the Banquet Hall Conference Complex and attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Mir Imtiyaz Ul Aziz, Chief Planning Officer Fayaz Ahmad Dar, IAS Probationer Alfred Thomas, senior engineers from R&B and Hydraulic departments, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Tahir Sajad, Chief Education Officer Ghulam Mohi Ud Din and other district and sectoral officers.

At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner took a detailed review of proposed works under the District Capex Budget and sought updates regarding preparation of estimates by various executing agencies. He emphasised prioritisation of projects based on public demand and visible developmental impact on the ground.

The DC directed all agencies to ensure timely submission of estimates so that administrative approvals are granted without delay, enabling early tendering and execution of works during the limited working season.

He further stressed that all projects proposed under the Capex Budget 2026-27 must be implemented in a transparent and time-bound manner to achieve desired outcomes and improve public service delivery across sectors.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the status of completed works under the District Capex 2025-26 and instructed departments to furnish required details promptly and upload completed projects on the e-compendium portal.

The DC underscored the importance of stronger inter-departmental coordination, adherence to timelines, maintenance of quality standards and proactive planning for optimum utilisation of resources and smooth execution of developmental works across the district.(PTK)
