Pulwama Continues Anti-Drug Outreach Under 100-Day Nasha Mukt Campaign
Pulwama, May 05 (PTK): A series of awareness and outreach activities were conducted across Pulwama as part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan to sensitise the public about the harmful effects of drug abuse.
The Youth Services and Sports Department organised rallies and sports competitions across various zones of the district, witnessing active participation from students and staff of multiple educational institutions.
In Zone Pulwama, institutions including GHSS Pulwama, HSS Hawl, HS Malangpora, HS Payer, GHS Gadoora, NIE Institute, GMS Karimabad, GMS Booner and UPS Chewakalan conducted anti-drug rallies. In Zone Tahab, HS Naina organised chess and table tennis competitions, UPS Patipora held badminton events, while MS Chandgam conducted an awareness rally.
Similarly, in Zone Pampore, inter-zonal chess and table tennis competitions were organised at BHSS Pampore, while GHSS Khrew hosted an anti-drug rally. The Zonal Office Tral also conducted zonal-level badminton and volleyball tournaments for U-14 boys.
Participants across these activities took pledge ceremonies, committing themselves towards building a drug-free society.
Meanwhile, the Drug Control Department Pulwama organised a rally at Sub-District Headquarters Tral with participation from members of the Chemists and Druggists Association and students from local institutions.
Multi-sectoral awareness programmes were also held at Lalpora Tral, Hatiwara Pampore and Sirnoo Pulwama, while the Education Department conducted rallies across the district.
The activities form part of a broader district action plan aimed at involving all sections of society in addressing and combating drug abuse.(PTK)
