‘VANDE MATARAM’ anniversary celebrations held at GCW Parade Ground

JAMMU, JANUARY 20(PTK): Government College for Women, Parade Ground organised a special programme to celebrate “150 Years of National Pride – VandeMataram.” The Student Welfare Committee, led by Dr. Seema Malpotra, Dean Students Welfare & Music department coordinated the event held under the patronage of Principal Dr. Ravender K. Tickoo.

 The programme featured a series of academic and cultural competitions, including quiz, essay writing, painting, debate and Vande Mataram singing contest, providing students with a platform to express their understanding and reverence for the national song.

The debate competition witnessed participation from nine students, in which Ojasvi secured the first prize, Samya won the second prize and Adiba Fatima bagged the third prize.

 In the painting competition, eight students participated, with Chahat Sharma securing the first prize, Urvashi the second prize and Aseesabjot Kaur the third prize. The essay writing competition also had ten participants, where Sundihi secured the first position, followed by Dhaniya at second, Dhruvi at third and Adiba at fourth position. In the quiz competition total twelve students participated, who were systematically divided into four groups out of which Sharda, Purvi and Tavneet secured the first position. And in the VandeMataram singing competition, eight students participated of which Gayatri secured the 1st rank, Roshni secured the second and Niharika got the third rank.

All participating students were appreciated for their enthusiastic involvement and were awarded certificates in recognition of their efforts.
