Sharp attack on the Jammu and Kashmir government, accusing it of failing to provide basic facilities and relief to flood-affected
Srinagar, Aug 30(PTK): Janata Dal United (JDU) President G.M. Shaheen on Friday launched a sharp attack on the Jammu and Kashmir government, accusing it of failing to provide basic facilities and relief to flood-affected communities across the region.
Shaheen said the administration had made repeated promises but failed to deliver fundamental amenities or extend meaningful support to those suffering due to natural calamities. “The people of Jammu and Kashmir continue to face hardships while the administration remains indifferent to their plight,” he stated.
Taking on the National Conference (NC), Shaheen alleged that successive NC-led governments misled the people with false assurances while neglecting their genuine needs. “Instead of addressing public grievances, the NC eliminated even the basic requirements of the common masses,” he remarked.
The press conference was convened soon after a joining programme, where noted social activist Arif Durrani formally joined JDU in the presence of G.M. Shaheen. Welcoming him into the party fold, Shaheen said Durrani’s presence would strengthen JDU’s grassroots outreach and help in voicing people’s issues more effectively.
Shaheen reiterated his demand for immediate rehabilitation of flood victims, improvement of infrastructure, and timely delivery of essential services to restore public trust in governance. (PTK)
