Border Area Youth Exchange Program participants of NYK Kupwara visit Forward Border areas of Tangdhar, Teetwal and Roshan Mustaqbill Youth Centre.

Press trust of kashmir  | Srinagar  : The Border Area Youth Exchange Program organised by NYK Kupwara saw participants visiting forward Border areas of Tangdhar, Teetwal. During the tour, the participants also made visits to Sharda Temple, Azmat e Hind, Crossing Point.

 

It is important to note that NYK Kupwara is organising the Border Area Youth Exchange Program from 19th to 23rd of February, 2025. As part of the program, 25 participants from 5 different non border states viz Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan are on a 5 day tour to the Border district Kupwara to explore the borders and learn from the experiences of the people living on borders.

 

Nisar Ahmed Butt State Director NYKS J&K Ladakh also accompanied the participants during the tour. Honoring the soldiers who fell in the line of duty, a wreath laying ceremony was also performed at the War Memorial. He motivated the youth participants to learn from the experiences of these visits and act as Ambassadors in generating awareness among the people of non-border areas regarding the actual situation on borders so that they build correct perception.

 

During their arrival at the Sadhna Pass / NC Pass, the participants were taken to Harbaksh Hall where the topography of the Border areas of Keran, Tangdhar and Teetwal was shown. The participants also visited the last border village of Simara where they closely saw the people living on the other side of the border. The participants made a night stay in the Army Camp Chamkote to realise the tough situations and conditions in which the Army is performing the duties. Upon their arrival at the Azmat e Hind Crossing Point, the participants were greeted by the local youth and students. A High Tea with the locals was also arranged for the youth participants.

 

The Dy Cdr 104 Inf Bde while interacting with the youth said that the primary motive of these visits was to make the youth realise the peaceful environment created for the people living on the borders and also learn from the hardships they face. He further exhorted the youth to become messengers and disseminate real situations along the borders among the people of non-border areas.

 

The participants after their departure from Tangdhar sector were taken on an Educational tour to Roshan Mustaqbill, a state of the art youth centre under Op Sadbhavna in Kupwara where they learned about the Hi Tech facilities available for the youth. The participants were also shown Modern Library, State of the Art Computer Labs and Recording Centre. The participants were then taken to the cafeteria where the enrolled youth welcomed them and learned from their experiences gained during the visit.

 

Col Tanmay Rath, Director Roshan Mustaqbill welcomed the participants and apprised the participants of all the facilities available for the youth. He also informed the participants that various niche courses such as Training on Hotel Management, Tourism are also available for the youth. A tour to the extension centre was also made for the participants so as to make them aware of the training facilities for the youth. The participants were also taken to Parcham e Hind where a weapons display program was organised. The participants also enjoyed a breath taking view of the Kupwara Town from the Heights of Parcham e Hind.

 

The entire program was organised under the supervision of Nitin Hangloo DYO Kupwara. Gulzar Ahmed APA and Naseem Choudhary coordinated the event. Rahi Riyaz ToT, Tanveer Ahmed and Ashiq Lone played an important role in the successful organisation of the events.(PTK).
