30 KG IED recovered from Tengpora Noorbagh
Press Trust of Kashmir |Srinagar : A 30 KG Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was recovered on Monday evening at Tengpora area of Noorbagh in Srinagar.
Officials said that an IED was recovered in the evening at Tengpora locality which was weighing around 30 KG.
They said that major attack averted by security forces as 30 kg Improvised Explosive Device (IED) and 5 Kg of suspicious material was detected close to Tangpura Bandh at the outskirts of Srinagar in Central Kashmir yesterday evening.
They said that the timely recovery thwarted the nefarious design of militants and their few supporters to destabilize the security situation in the valley”
They further added that based on the credible input of Army, the search operation was launched by 24 RR and JKP in general area Tangpura yesterday late evening which lead to recovery of 30 KG of IED and 5 kgs of one gunny bag of suspicious material near Tangpura Bandh which is 700 mtrs away from NH1 highway.
They added that the IED and explosives was safely destroyed in situ by Army Bomb Squad today morning.
They added that Search operation in Tangpura is in progress.(PTK).
