Police Arrests Drug Peddler In Budgam, Recovers Contraband Substance

November 16(PTK): In a continued crackdown on narcotics, Police in Budgam arrested a drug peddler and recovered a significant quantity of contraband substance in Khansahib area.

A police team from Police Station Khansahib during patrolling near Yarikah intercepted a suspicious person with a synthetic bag. During search of the bag, 3.70 kilograms of Charas-like substance in powder form was recovered. The accused has been identified as Sajad Ahmad Mir son of Ghulam Ahmad Mir resident of Mirpora Yarikah, Khansahib. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 214/2025 under relevant sections of law been registered at Police Station Khansahib and further investigation has been initiated.

J&K Police reaffirm their commitment to fighting the drug menace and urge citizens to share any information regarding drug peddling or other unlawful activities in their locality.(PTK)
