Director School Education Kashmir Launches Mega Enrollment Drive in Yaripora, Kulgam
Press Trust of Kashmir | Kulgam,In a bid to enhance student enrollment in government schools and ensure quality education, Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK), Dr. G. N. Itoo, today inaugurated a Mega Enrollment Drive Campaign in Yaripora Hatipora, District Kulgam.
The campaign has already seen a tremendous response, with over 200 students and new entrants enrolling in government schools. This initiative aims to promote equitable and inclusive education while fostering public trust in government schools by emphasizing improved infrastructure, dedicated teaching staff, and student-friendly learning environments.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Itoo highlighted the government’s commitment to providing quality education to all children and urged parents to make the most of the opportunities available in government schools. He emphasized the role of community participation in shaping a robust and progressive education system.
The event was attended by various education officials, including the Chief Education Officer Kulgam, District Education Planning Officer, senior education officials, local dignitaries, and community members. They all praised the department’s continuous efforts to increase enrollment and promote education in the region.
Dr. Itoo also shared that over 85% of the required textbooks have already been distributed across the Kashmir Valley, ensuring that students receive their learning materials promptly.
As part of the School Education Department’s larger vision to strengthen the public education system, the Mega Enrollment Drive will continue across the region, aiming to enroll more children in formal education and ensure their holistic development.
In his speech, Dr. Itoo referred to the National Education Policy 2020, emphasizing the importance of preserving the mother tongue while providing foundational education. He also urged teachers to become role models and guide students about the dangers of drug abuse, contributing to a future free of this menace.
The Mega Enrollment Drive is a significant step toward ensuring that every child in the region receives the education they deserve, paving the way for a brighter future for the youth of Kashmir-(PTK)
