Massive Fire Engulfs Shops in Sonamarg, Government Assures Full Support for Rehabilitation:CM

Sonamarg, February 11 (PTK) A devastating fire broke out in Sonamarg, reducing several shops to ashes and leaving numerous shopkeepers without their livelihoods. The incident has caused immense distress among the affected families, prompting an immediate response from the government.

Visiting the site of the tragedy, senior government officials, including Advisor to the Chief Minister, Nasir Aslam Wani (Sogami), MLA Kangan Mian Mehar Ali, and Mudassar Shahmiri, accompanied officials to assess the damage and meet with the affected traders.

Expressing deep sorrow over the loss, the government has already announced immediate relief measures and assured full support for the rehabilitation of the shopkeepers. Officials have emphasized that all necessary steps will be taken to help those impacted rebuild their businesses and recover from the tragedy.

Speaking at the site, officials reassured the affected shopkeepers, stating, “The government stands firmly with those who have suffered losses in this unfortunate incident. Immediate relief has been sanctioned, and further steps will be taken to ensure long-term rehabilitation and recovery.”

Local authorities, along with district administration, are currently assessing the full extent of the damage to formulate a comprehensive relief package. Measures such as financial aid, temporary market setups, and assistance in rebuilding shops are under active consideration.
