Udhampur, January 18 (PTK): The S.K. Police Academy, Udhampur, successfully concluded two five-day training programs today: the Crash Course on New Criminal Laws-2023 and the Course on Women Safety.
The Crash Course on New Criminal Laws-2023, held from 14th to 18th January 2025, was attended by 30 officials from Districts Udhampur and Reasi. This program was designed to provide participants with a practical understanding of the recently introduced Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita-2023, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita-2023, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam-2023. The focus was on equipping officers to effectively implement these laws in addressing contemporary law enforcement challenges.
Concurrently, a five-day Course on Women Safety, sponsored by the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D), New Delhi, was conducted. Twenty officers from J&K Police participated in the program, which emphasized enhancing investigative skills and familiarizing participants with the latest legal provisions, including those under the IT Act, for handling cases involving crimes against women with professionalism and sensitivity.
The valedictory ceremony for both courses was held at SKPA, with Shri Rajinder Kumar Gupta, IPS, SSP, Deputy Director (Indoor), SKPA, presiding as the chief guest. In his address, Shri Gupta stressed the importance of understanding and applying the new Criminal Laws for effective law enforcement. He also highlighted the need for sensitivity and adherence to guidelines while investigating cases involving women victims, ensuring justice with compassion and competence.
The Crash Course on New Criminal Laws was coordinated by Shri Amit Parkash Sehgal, Sr.PO, assisted by Inspector Subash Chander, while the Course on Women Safety was coordinated by Inspector Anil Raina, supported by SI Dhian Singh, both faculty members at SKPA Udhampur.(PTK)
