Srinagar, Oct 01: A voter turnout of 56.01% has been recorded by 3:00 PM across 40 assembly constituencies in seven districts of Jammu and Kashmir, according to the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, J&K.
Today’s voting is expected to increase the overall poll percentage, as traditional vote-rich areas, including the border regions of Kupwara, Gurez, and Karnah, went to polls today.
In previous phases, J&K saw a high turnout with 61.38% voting recorded in the first phase and 59.11% in the second. However, Srinagar district has consistently shown lower voter engagement, registering only 27% voter turnout across its eight constituencies.
