Union Home Minister Amit Shah released the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) manifesto for the upcoming Jammu & Kashmir assembly elections, emphasizing the party’s long-standing commitment to the region. Shah was joined by Jammu & Kashmir BJP chief Ravinder Raina and other senior leaders during the event.

Highlighting the significance of the region for the BJP, Shah stated, “Since Independence, Jammu & Kashmir has been important for our party. We have always tried to keep this land intact with India.” He also pointed to the state’s turbulent history before 2014, citing separatism and terrorism fueled by state and non-state actors, and criticized previous governments for their “policy of appeasement.”

Shah declared that the post-2014 period will be remembered as a “golden period” for Jammu & Kashmir and firmly ruled out the return of Article 370. “Article 370 is history, it will never return, and we won’t let it happen. Article 370 gave weapons and stones to the youth,” he remarked, underscoring the BJP’s resolve to ensure lasting peace and development in the region.
