Jammu, September 02: A soldier was killed in a militant attack on an army camp in the Sunjwan area of Jammu on Monday, officials said.
According to sources from the Press Trust of Kashmir, the soldier suffered serious injuries during the attack and was immediately evacuated to a nearby hospital. Despite efforts to save his life, the soldier succumbed to his wounds.
The militants launched an attack on the army base camp in the early hours, prompting a swift retaliation by the forces. Additional reinforcements were rushed to the area to support the ongoing operation.
In response to the attack, the area was promptly cordoned off by the army and the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the local police. A thorough search operation is currently underway to locate the militants responsible for the attack.
