Jammu and Kashmir Braces for Heavy Rainfall

Jammu and Kashmir is set to experience significant rainfall over the next 24 hours, driven by the convergence of a Western Disturbance and monsoon winds, according to independent weather forecaster Faizan Arif, also known as Kashmir Weather.

Arif predicts moderate rainfall across the region, with potential for heavy showers in certain areas. A temporary lull in precipitation is possible during the night. However, he warns that water levels in nallahs and rivers are expected to rise, posing a risk of flooding. Gusty winds and intense showers, including the possibility of cloudbursts, may lead to flash floods. There is also a high risk of lightning strikes.

Residents are urged to stay alert and take necessary precautions, including postponing or halting trekking plans for the time being.
